Features and uses:

Festuca glauca Blauglut is an ornamental evergreen grass native to Europe and belongs to the Poaceae family.

This ornamental grass looks like a dense tuft of filiform leaves, slightly fleshy and smooth to the touch, glaucous blue, with silvery reflections. Usually it does not exceed 30/40 cm in height.

The inflorescence appears at the beginning of summer, in the form of a small spike of gray-blue color with silvery reflections. In the autumn it becomes brown and is supported by long stems that float to the minimum of the wind.

The advantages of Festuca glauca Blauglut are many, including longevity and excellent resistance to disease and drought. This graminacea does not need fertilizer and also adapts well to poor soils, and will also prevent the growth of unpopulated weeds.

This ornamental grass is well suited for the creation of flower boxes and borders, along sidewalks, cycle paths and driveways, while combined with other essences will help to create a colorful and evocative mixed season in all seasons. Some examples could be: the Imperata cylindrica Red Baron , the Panicum Rebraun, the Pennisetum Red Head, the Miscanthus Little Zebra, the Miscanthus Adagio, the Calamagrostis Avalanche
