Fargesia is a plant that originates mainly in China, it is an evergreen ornamental grass and its appearance is very similar to bamboo.
Thin, narrow and long leaves, soft to the touch, with a relaxing appearance, slightly arched on dense canes covered with small sheaths, which, depending on the variety, show different colors and shades.
Fargesia is also called dwarf bamboo, because its growth is more contained and can vary from 2 to 4 meters in adulthood, according to the different varieties. Furthermore, another very important feature is that the root system does not emit invasive rhizomes and therefore does not require a containment sheath.

The advantages of fargesia are really many: it does not require maintenance, it is very resistant to cold and diseases, it grows well even in poor and calcareous soils, it adapts easily to different exposures.
Its dimensions are small, this allows cultivation both on the ground to create hedges and barriers, and in flower boxes used to furnish terraces and balconies or to delimit areas of commercial activity.
