Features and uses:

Abelia grandiflora Sparkling Silver® is a shrub belonging to the family of caprifoliaceae, originating in China and Japan, but was then spread all over the world.

It is an evergreen or semi-evergreen bush, according to the climate in which it is cultivated. Leaves are light green with white margin, but according to the climate they are pinkish shades.

Flowers resemble small white bells, assembled in small bunches, slightly scented. The first flowers appear abundantly in the spring, but they continue in summer and autumn as well.

It tolerates well different types of soil, though it prefers neutral or slightly acidic soils. It is good in the sunshine and even in the midst of shadows, while if placed in full shade, the flowering will be very scarce, and the plant will not be as splendid as ever. It resists well at low temperatures and is hardly attacked by parasites.

Its height ranges from 60 to 80 cm, this compact attitude makes it perfect for cultivating in pots to decorate terraces and balconies. Even as a bordeau or a mixed spit, in addition to other essences it will give a splendid landscape.
