The green bonus, also known as the "garden bonus", was introduced with the 2017 budget law, and was subsequently extended until 2024. It is a tax advantage that provides for a 36% personal income tax deduction on expenses incurred for various types of interventions aimed at redeveloping green areas of existing buildings and real estate units, used for residential purposes.

WHICH INTERVENTIONS ARE INCLUDED IN THE GREEN BONUS?
Among the interventions that fall within this bonus we find the green redevelopment of both private and condominium courtyard areas, through the planting of new plants, the construction of green roofs and hanging gardens, as well as new flower beds, new fences, new systems irrigation systems and wells.

The deductible expense is up to a maximum of 5,000 euros per year, therefore 1800 euros per property and this deduction will be divided into ten annual installments of the same amount. It does not include the work done in economy, or carried out by the owner or the tenant, but only by professionals in the sector, also it does not include the ordinary maintenance of the existing green.

This green bonus is certainly an excellent opportunity to improve the green space that surrounds you, so we advise you to discuss the subject with your trusted gardener.

Happy green setting everyone!
